In this personal part you will find an overview of the games you played, view them, view your rating and scores, challenge players on your friends-list and change personal settings such as board colours, playing-level and language preference.

Play w-chess
In the public playing area you can find other players that also want to play a game, challenge them or put yourself on the challenge list for other players to challenge you. If you have the i-mail address of a friend, colleague or valued opponent, you can challenge them directly, even when they are not a member of the w-chess portal.

Chezzles
Daily we present new mental gymnastics with our chezzles of different types such as mate problems, end-game, best move, etcetera. Every month a new set of 64 puzzles is released in a 'Mondriaan', a chess board with changing colours for your puzzle selection and answers. The best solvers will find a place in our Hall of Fame.

Game browser
Find and view games of grand-masters, games played at w-chess tournaments or your own historic games. All grand-mastership games from 1965 and later are on-line available in our game database. Conveniently view and learn from these games as they are brought to you as crisp animations of moves. Stop viewing, go back moves, view the situation and learn and see how the game develops.

Play computer
Our computer plays chess at various levels that you can set. Play a quick game while waiting, or play to loose - and learn.

News
We bring short articles and reports about major chess events and about tournaments played at w-chess. Find announcements of upcoming events and register for the next tournament at w-chess.

Not a grand-master yet? Maybe not even a beginner? No problem - our tutor provides step-by-step instruction to learn the basic rules of the game and view interesting games from which you learn. From there it is your brain that will let you win. Who said chess was easy?
